More on Lynn

  • I am the Business Manager for the School District of Nekoosa in Wisconsin.
  • I am married for 42 years to my husband Steve.
    • We have two sons and two daughter-in-laws.  Steven is a scientist and worked on the Moderna vaccine a few years back.  He’s married to Jamie and they live in Boulder, CO.  Justin is an IT Developer and married Minami, a Japanese woman from Nagoya.  They live in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, for now.
    • My husband was a coast-to-coast truck driver for over 30 years.  When the boys were young, we traveled with him for a few trips each year. Just imagine all of us “living” in the cab of a truck for a  week! It’s no wonder we are a close family!
  • I am passionate about animal rescue and am a foster failure. My husband and I have fostered and then adopted five dogs: JoJo (Springer Spaniel), Carlee (Shiba) , Lucky (Hound), Cinnamon, and Felicity (both Catahoulas).
  • I live in Stevens Point and grew up in Green Bay, Wisconsin, five blocks from Lambeau Field where the Green Bay Packers play! We used to park cars on our lawn and walk with our “customers” to the football game, and I’m not a football fan!
  • I have nine siblings, and I am the fourth youngest. Loyalty and honor are important to our family.  My dad was in the Army and fought in the Korean war, my husband was a Marine and was part of the Viet Nam evacuation and Desert Storm, both of my sons were in the Navy, during peacetime, thank goodness!
  • I went to night school to earn my bachelor’s degree while working full-time and raising 2 boys while my husband was gone for weeks at a time. If it wasn’t for my mom, I would not be where I am today.
  • I began my school career by auditing them! I worked for a CPA firm and auditing public schools was my specialty!
  • I love alternative rock music! In 2015, I attended Summerfest in Milwaukee and saw Linkin Park live!

"Lynn's rural school district viewpoint is always unique and refreshing to hear. With over 57% of the nation's school districts being rural it is time to let that viewpoint be heard loud and clear! "

Brian Adesso
Director of Business Services
Menasha Joint School District

"Lynn may be from a small district, but she has a BIG impact! I crossed paths with Lynn at my very first WASBO conference when I was feeling overwhelmed and unsure. Hearing Lynn speak that day, projecting empathy, realness, laughter and reassurance, let me know I was right where I needed to be. I still remember that moment as I sit in my desk chair today - 13 years later! "

Sarah Viera
Exec. Director of Business & Operations
Mequon-Thiensville School District

"I have worked closely with Lynn on employee compensation for the last five years. This professional relationship has been among the most gratifying experiences of my 34 years as a teacher in Nekoosa. Lynn has been the liaison to the administration and school board, and I have served in that role to the professional staff. Through innovation, trust, prudence, and effective communication, our financial house is in order, and we have the best employee compensation package in the area."

She consistently demonstrates her commitment to assisting and establishing connections with others. Lynn is a prominent figure in her local school district, her state region, the entirety of Wisconsin, as well as on a national and international level. She passionately advocates for public schools, and our organization would greatly benefit from her continued leadership."

"I've known Lynn for a few years and in all of my interactions she demonstrates a passion for her work and advocating for students, staff, and schools. Working in a rural district, she provides a unique perspective that is often missing from discussions and she always brings an ethical lens to the conversation. With all that said, I'm confident that Lynn would make a great Vice President and future President of ASBO and work tirelessly on behalf of the membership."

She is an excellent speaker, engaging and fun, making her a delight to listen to. She also takes a lot of time to give back to the profession through her leadership, and she is always available to help newbies feel at home or remind those of us who have been around for a while that we can all make a difference. This is all topped off with one great big smile!"
